Motorola Moto G8 Plus specs leaks out
« on: October 16, 2019, 07:48:24 AM »

Motorola's Moto G smartphones are quite popular in the US, and for a good reason. The handsets offer nice (albeit not high-end) features at very attractive prices and they're usually sold unlocked, being compatible with all major carriers. Now, since the Moto G7 family was launched this year in February, we'd have thought that a Moto G8 series would be released sometime in early 2020. But it looks like Motorola plans to surprise us by introducing at least one Moto G8 model as soon as this month.

According to WinFuture, Motorola intends to release a Moto G8 Plus on October 24, at least in Brazil, for an undisclosed price. WinFuture even has some nice images showing the upcoming device (see above and below), plus a list of specs.

Reportedly, the Motorola Moto G8 Plus (model number XT2019) sports a 6.3-inch IPS display with 1080 x 2280 pixels and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor - a very capable mid-range octa-core CPU announced earlier this year. Despite the busy look of the new handset's rear, there are only three camera sensors there - a main 48 MP one, a 16 MP wide-angle one, and a 5 MP one for gathering depth information. The fourth and fifth circles in the rear camera system host a laser autofocus sensor and an LED flash, respectively. On the front, the Moto G8 Plus has a 25 MP selfie camera.

When it comes to storage space, the Motorola Moto G8 Plus should have two versions - with 64 GB and 128 GB of internal memory. Other features allegedly include 4 GB of RAM, microSD card support, a 3.5 mm headset jack, and a 4000 mAh battery (that's significantly larger than the 3,000 mAh battery of the G7 Plus). It's said that, at launch, the Moto G8 Plus will run Android 9 Pie, not the newer Android 10. Hopefully, Motorola won't wait too long before updating the phone to the latest version of Google's OS.

A regular Moto G8 and a Moto G8 Play are expected to be launched by Motorola alongside the G8 Plus, though it's not clear if these will arrive at the very same time. We don't know which Moto G8 models are slated to arrive in the US, but we'll be here to share more on this as soon as new information is available.
