LG launches the G8S ThinQ
« on: July 03, 2019, 04:47:25 AM »

LG has just announced its new G8S ThinQ smartphone will go on sale in select markets this month. Marketed as a more affordable version of its LG G8 ThinQ flagship, the G8S packs the same hardware and camera configuration of the former.

It even utilizes the same Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor technology included in the LG G8 ThinQ's Z Camera. However, unlike the G8 ThinQ, the new model comes with three rear cameras instead of just two. Well, the G8 ThinQ has either two or three cameras, depending on the market, but the G8S ThinQ features a triple-rear camera configuration in all markets.

As far as availability goes, LG announced that the G8S will be available starting this month in select markets in Europe, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, among others. There is no info about the suggested retail price, but LG says pricing details will be announced locally.

Although there are no hardware differences between the G8 ThinQ and G8S ThinQ, LG has decided to use a slightly larger 6.2-inch OLED display inside the G8S ThinQ, as opposed to the G8 ThinQ's 6.1-inch P-OLED display.

Also, LG G8S ThinQ is powered by a slightly larger 3,550 mAh battery, and a slightly lower triple-rear camera configuration Ė 12MP/12MP/13MP, as opposed to LG G8 ThinQ's 3,500 mAh battery and 12MP/16MP/12MP camera. The G8S ThinQ's notch seems to be a bit larger than the one on the original model.

If you plan to buy the new LG G8S ThinQ you may want to know that the smartphone will be available in three colors: Mirror Black, Mirror Teal, and Mirror White.
