OnePlus 7 Pro "limited edition" now in stores
« on: June 12, 2019, 06:43:43 AM »

If you love to combine puns with pop culture and famous brands, you might call the new version of the OnePlus 7 Pro "Almond Joy." The handset is now available in "Almond" from OnePlus for a price of $699. This variant carries 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage; while this is the exact configuration of the device available from T-Mobile, the latter stocks the phone in Nebula Blue and Mirror Grey only.

OnePlus calls this a "limited edition," and the back of the device has almost a cream-colored look. The phone carriers a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1440x 3120 resolution. This is the company's first handset to sport a 1440p screen, and it has a 90Hz refresh rate for buttery smooth scrolling and game playing. If you're concerned about this feature draining the 4000mAh battery, you can always set it to 60Hz, the rate at which most smartphone displays refresh. Of course, you might get spoiled by the higher rate and just let the battery go. Besides, the Warp Charge 30 charger that comes with the device will rapidly replenish the battery anyway.

The OnePlus 7 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform, currently the chip maker's latest and greatest SoC. And the triple camera setup on back includes a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP telephoto camera with an unofficial 3x optical zoom (more like 2.2x according to tests) and a 16MP Ultra-wide camera. There is a popup 16MP selfie snapper that keeps the screen notch and punch-hole free, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Yes, the phone has experienced some issues since its release, however, OnePlus has quickly sent out updates to fix a problem with "phantom" touches on the display and to improve the cameras on the phone.

You might note that the OnePlus 7 Pro in Almond will ship in 14 days according to the OnePlus website; all other variants ship within 24 hours.
