According to Twitter tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), the OnePlus 7 Pro is extremely popular in China where consumers placed pre-orders on more than one million units of the phone. The pre-orders were placed on the OnePlus website and on the site of Chinese e-commerce firm JD.com, the only places where the phone could be pre-ordered in the country. As reported by MyDrivers, more than 820,000 units were reserved on JD.com with over 220,000 units pre-ordered on the official OnePlus site. Based on those figures, the total number of OnePlus 7 handsets reserved in the country amounted to nearly 1.05 million.

It only took five days for the OnePlus 7 Pro to generate the 1.05 million pre-orders. Interestingly, the tweet from Ice Universe indicates that some consumers in China plan on selling their Samsung Galaxy S10 series phone and using the funds to purchase the OnePlus 7 Pro. The tweet also indicates that the phone is now on backorder since the number of reserved units exceeded the number of units available in the country at launch.

The OnePlus 7 Pro features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1440 x 3120 resolution. This is not only the first 1440p display on a OnePlus phone, but it also has a 90Hz refresh rate for buttery smooth graphics. Most handsets have a 60Hz refresh rate. Under the hood you'll find the Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform with three different configurations of memory and storage: 6GB of RAM/128GB storage, 8GB RAM/256GB storage or 12GB RAM/256GB storage.

The triple camera setup on back includes a 48MP primary camera with an aperture of f/1.6 and optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a 16MP camera with an Ultra-wide lens. The selfie camera weighs in at 16MP and pops up from the top of the camera (it automatically retracts when it senses that the phone is falling). An optical in-display fingerprint scanner is included, and a 4000mAh battery keeps the lights on. The same 30W Warp Charger offered with the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is used on the OnePlus 7 Pro, and an Android 9 Pie based version of OxygenOS (HydrogenOS in China) is pre-installed.

The prices in China are 3,999 Yuan for the 6GB model, 4499 Yuan for the 8GB unit and 4999 Yuan for the 12GB variant. This means that if someone is trading in a Galaxy S10 series phone to buy the OnePlus 7 Pro, they could have some change left over. Phones in the Galaxy S10 line start at 5,300 Yuan for the Galaxy S10e and run as high as 12,000 Yuan for the Galaxy S10+ with 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
