Huawei P30 Pro benchmark review and spec
« on: March 13, 2019, 07:15:53 AM »

The Huawei P30 Pro is the next big smartphone of the year and with just a couple of weeks left until its announcement, the flagship has been spotted (via Nashville Chatter) on popular benchmarking site Geekbench.

In terms of the multi-core test, the premium device was able to score a very respectable 9,670 points. An equally-impressive score of 3,251 was achieved by the device on the single-core test. These results were made possible by the presence of the high-end Kirin 980 chip and a considerable 8GB of RAM. The benchmark listing also confirms the presence of Android 9 Pie.

Although the Huawei P30 Pro isnít yet official, these results arenít at all surprising. After all, the flagship boasts the same processor as last yearís Huawei Mate 20 Pro and performance levels are seemingly on par with this.

In comparison to other flagships, though, the results arenít quite as high. The Snapdragon 855-powered Galaxy S10+, for example, consistently produces multi-score results in the region of 11,000 points and single-core ones of around 3,500 points. The Exynos 9820 version, on the other hand, boosts the single-core results to over 4,000 and maintains the multi-core numbers at around 10,500.

Appleís iPhone XS Max also produces multi-core results in the region of 11,000 and single-core numbers that typically sit between 4,700 and 4,800 points thanks to the A12 Bionic.

At the end of the day, benchmark results arenít everything. Nowadays, both hardware and software optimization play huge roles in the real-life performance of devices. But considering Samsung and Apple typically put a lot of effort into these areas, Huawei might have a lot of catching up to do with its P30 series and inferior chip.
